Dental Health

Oral health problems can contribute to a variety of other health problems including heart disease, diabetes, and high blood pressure. Conversely, good oral health practices and preventative dental care can benefit overall health. At Community Alliance Health Partners, our primary care providers help to address dental health by assessing oral health risk and providing education that reinforces at-home care management including regular brushing and flossing and the impact of nutrition and/or tobacco cessation on both oral health and chronic diseases. We also work with our partner, Heart Ministry Center, in making referrals for preventative and other dental care, and to coordinate both physical health and oral health treatment as part of a comprehensive care plan. This helps to create an important access point for patients who might not otherwise see a dental care professional.
